Welcome to Fantasy Guru 37's Blog. I will try to post a few times per week discussing sports and their fantasy implications. I will focus primarily on the NHL, NFL, and NCAAF, however I touch upon PGA Tour golf, the NBA, and NCAAB. Your comments are always appreciated. Feel free to email me at fantasyguru37@gmail.com with any questions or feedback you may have.

NHL Playoffs Bracket Pool 2010 Champion

The Chicago Blackhawks have been crowned Stanley Cup Champions, giving the city their first taste of Stanley's Brandy since 1961. Captain Jonathan Toews was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy, adding to his collection of 2010 hardware. In just over four months, the 22 year-old from Winnipeg has captured an Olympic Gold Medal, the Stanley Cup, and the Conn Smythe. That's great and all, but the guru has something more valuable to award: a spot in the 2010 FG37 Fantasy Football Expert League.

In what was an unpredictable year, only the brightest (or the most foolish) of minds could survive. The winner of the 2010 NHL Playoffs Bracket Pool is none other than...

CPD!

Yes, CPD has won, despite picking Jordan Staal as Playoff MVP. Check out the final standings.

As you can see, the guru finished with the most points. Surprisingly enough, no contestant took his advice and chose Chicago to win. Instead, they predicted the President Trophy winners in Washington or the defending champs in Pittsburgh to hoist Lord Stanley's Cup. This lack of faith in the guru turned out to bite the contestants in the end. Remember: never doubt the guru.

Congratulations to CPD, who finished as the runner-up. Because the guru already has a spot in the expert league, the next opening will be awarded to CPD. The guru would like to thank all of those who entered. Be sure to check back for more ways to qualify. The next spot will be up for grabs shortly. (Hint: Read up on your NHL history.)
